Looking forward to the 2010 Season!!
Welcome Future Bulldog Cheerleaders and Parents,
The BYF cheer coaches are excited about the upcoming 2010 season. Our cheer program is one of the best in the area, and we are working hard in the off season, planning to continue the tradition of success and improvement of our cheerleaders. We are regarded as one of the best programs in the Michigan Youth Football and Cheer Conference (MYFCC), and our successes at Cheer Rally in recent years continue place us among the ones to watch!!
Our coaches are very experienced, having been involved with cheerleading, at the youth sports level and at Brighton Area Schools, for many years. We work very hard to continue to educate ourselves, staying in touch with all that is going on in cheerleading, at the youth level, at the middle schools and high school, and within the Michigan High School Athletics Association.
We are extremely proud of the integrity of the BYF organization, striving to build not only the “best of the best” in cheerleading, but we work hard to turn out excellent young ladies who regard cheerleading not as a hobby, but a sport and all that it entails – the hard work, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm for their sport and teammates.
Registration: Registration for football and cheer returning participants is March 1st. Open registration is March 10th. Go to the Registration page for more detailed information, or send your email address to our secretary for newsletters and updates. Our secretary, Angie Gabel, can be contacted by e-mail at secretary@brightonyouthfootball.net or by phone 810-220-9422 for more information.
Practice/Season Begins: Our first practice begins the first week of August and continues 4 days / week until school starts. After school starts, practices are 3 days / week. Starting in late August, we cheer at the BYF football games, which are played on Saturdays or Sundays depending on field availability, and continue through late October. Our Cheer Rally is held typically the second Saturday in November.
There are some “cheer gear” requirements that need to be obtained by every cheerleader, such as shoes and clothing. Uniforms are provided by the organization. These will be outlined at open Registration in March. All practices are at Hawkins Elementary and home games are at Brighton High School.
Football and cheer camp is also held in May. While not a requirement to attend, it is an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with the other participants and all the coaches of the organization. For more information, check the Camp page.
Further information can be obtained by checking out our Frequently Asked Questions page or by contacting any board member, or our hotline: 810-220-9422, mailbox: P.O.
